Vinyl Café Diaries

Vinyl Café Diaries is written by a Canadian writer, Stuart McLean. He's considered "one of Canada's most popular broadcast personalities" and his Vinyl Café series has one lots of awards, not to mention it's a bestseller.

This is a humorous, amusing book filled with short stories that I'm sure will become instant classics with your family. I remember my grade 7 English teacher read it to our class and it's always stuck with me.
When you read these stories, you might wonder if some of these things actually happened. Most of what it said probably did happen, to him or Stuart...you never know! But keep in mind that it's not all true but it is realistic enough for you not to question it too much. It's one of those it's-crazy-enough-it-just-might-work type of things.

I can guarantee you'll be able to relate with some of the things that have happened to Dave and Morley if you have a college-aged or 11
year-old child at home. Or, if you're the kids' age then I'm sure you'll find it amusing some of the things Dave and Morley are put through.

This family has been through dances, book clubs, ring-eating ducks, road trips and road kill, moving their daughter to college and much much more and now they can take you along if you let them.

Stuart McLean is a real talent and I'm proud to call him Canadian. He really knows how to put stories together in a way that makes it seem like
it's quite serious and important what's happening to the character, which just makes it that much funnier. And, all jokes aside, I think everyone can take something away from each of these stories; there are lots of lessons to learn.
