My First Review

Now that I've finally found the time I can do my first review! (yay me! ^^) Anyways, this isn't a Teen FIRST book. Like I mentioned in my last post it is a book for Jean Wang.

The first in the trilogy is called Beyond the Reflection's Edge by Bryan Davis. I am told he is a Christian author so that explained a couple of things while i was reading it. when you're reading it, you can kind of tell he's Christian because of the constant references to prayer and the one mention of going to church but other than that, it's pretty much like every other book you'll pick up off the shelf...not in a bad way. Reflection's Edge actually had a VERY original story line to it. Something that I never would have thought of or read anywhere else.

The story revolves around the life of Nathan Shepherd and the mess that his father created for him. Not purposely, of course. While performing at a concert his parents disappear and his "nanny" of sorts sends him to stay with an old friend Tony Clark and his daughter, Kelly. The last thing his father did was give him part of a mirror and told him to look into it if anything ever went wrong.
Once at the Clark's, he is put into a room with a mysterious mirror and soon him and his new friend Kelly Clark are pulled into an ever-turning, danger-at-every-corner mystery/adventure that has to do with the death of his parents. The only lead Kelly and Nathan have to start with is that the mirror is activated with music.
Will Nathan's talents and spy training be enough to help him and Kelly survive long enough to figure out this fantastical mystery?
You'll have to wait until next month to find out :P

I found this book very intriguing with lots of twists. I would recommend it to anyone willing to listen! There was romance (Nathan's very old-fashioned :P), lots of sarcasm and of course never a shortage of adventure. I had no trouble imagining all the emotions the characters went through or how amazing Nathan's supposed to be with a violin. Definitely a 5 out of 5!
Go pick it up!
